Cut Out the Holiday Headache and Hire a Photographer! | Portland Family Photographer
You know what I mean. You get the whole family together, get your camera set up on a tripod, get the self-timer started, and then the kids melt down. Or the Husband is frowning. Or everyone's eyes are somehow magically closed. No matter what you do, you can't get a good family self-portrait for those holiday cards! Obviously, we are biased, but we strongly recommend hiring a photographer for those fall family portraits, or those holiday card pictures!
Meaghan and I went to high school together in Klamath Falls, and we connected now and then on social media to comment on cute pictures or congratulate those big life milestones. But we hadn't actually seen each other since high school. Meaghan sent me a message a few weeks ago and asked if I had any fall openings for a large family session! She said they usually try to do it themselves self-portrait-on-a-tripod style, but this year, they decided to cut out the holiday headache and hire a photographer! We happened to be doing a few other sessions that day, but I was happy to fit them in to my morning schedule up at Hoyt Arboretum!
The small town connections turned out to be many besides just Meaghan and I! It turned out that Meaghan's sister and brother-in-law both attended the Junior High school where my mom taught for 30-some years, and they both remembered her! Plus, my dad's cousin was one of their band instructors in High School! (You don't get too many Zaiger's around without us all being related...)
Anyway, their family was all spread out over the state, but they were all together just for that weekend, so we fit them all in! I love doing Generation Family sessions with clients and getting everyone in the frame. Here are a few of my favs!
